OOTD | Happy Colors!

It had already been a long Friday but I had the chance to actually have dinner with my husband and go to an event that I have been meaning to get to for months now. I dashed home from the gym, jumped into the shower and then my closet and came out with this...I kind of really like it!

I cannot live without this Oatmeal cashmere wrap, it goes with everything, keeps me warm, folds easily into my purse and I can style it a countless number of ways. Tonight I made it into an infinity loop by tucking and hiding the tasseled ends into the wrapped layers. I picked up this adorable cream quilted jacket with gold accents today while at Target. Not the best quality piece but cute and I am sure I can get a season or two out of it.

One of my favorite colored tops. I've had this forever, it is such a versatile, happy piece.

I just love pairing complimentary colors, blue and orange are my favorite!

Accessories...my staple Stuart Weitzman nude pumps, Hermès belt with hammered gold buckle, and my Louis Vuitton makeup case that has never held makeup but is the heart of any handbag I carry and my go to clutch when I'm lazy and need to crab something small on the go.

I just love the COLORS of this outfit. The belt feeds off the reds and oranges of the top while complimenting the rich blue of the jeans.

This was a great outfit because while I felt cute in it, and I was comfortable it didn't feel at all fussy. I didn't have a stitch of makeup on, and I there my wet hair into a ballet bun and ran out the door. Another post on the go!

I hope you all had a good Friday night.

His & Hers

My friend Kelly over at Messy.Dirty.Hair has been urging me to do a post on my husband's clothes for quite sometime. My husband has great taste and a wonderful sense of style, however he's not gone shopping for clothes since we met five years ago. He leaves that to me and I love it! We recently attended a casual event in the evening and I thought it would be fun to show you his outfit as well as mine. :)

His

Tissot t-touch watch, Faconable shirt, Levi's dark wash jeans, Sperry Topsider loafers, Tommy Bahama reversible pullover, custom wedding band

Hers

Luois Vuitton Neverfull GM, Nude Tory Burch  flats, Michael Kors watch, David Yurman bracelet, yellow cashmere scarf, old navy blue sweater with oversized buttons, red skinny jeans, white J.Crew tank

Hope you enjoy!

Inside My Bag - Part I

I find it interesting and love to see what other people carry in their purses. I thought I would share with you what's in mine, or at least the essentials I am never without...

My Louis Pouch
Truly meant to be a cosmetic pouch, I use this large Louis Vuitton pouch to hold my wallet, checkbook, lip gloss etc...this pouch is really the heart and soul of my purse.

Tiffany Leather Envelopes
I originally received the large Tiffany blue envelope as party favor at a Tiffany event and for years it sat in a desk drawer. About five years ago I began using it to keep my receipts organized. It's slim profile makes it the perfect accessory.

I also have the smaller version of this in red and black and I use these adorable envelopes to hold business cards and gift cards. Their patent leather makes them durable and their bright colors make them easy to find.

My Wallet
I use a small Louis Vuitton sip pouch for my wallet. I found it while on a trip to Hawaii and I have been using it ever since. I don't change wallets often and I like to be able to carry car keys, my phone and my wallet in one hand, so suits my needs quite nicely.

Keys
My Grampsie always carried his keys in this simple black leather holder. When he passed away I carried with with me everywhere until it was stolen with my purse. Of everything I lost, I was most devastated over this. My sweet husband found this one which is exactly like Grampsie's and bought it for me. Grampsie always used to keep $20 inside for emergencies and my husband always makes sure I do to...just in case.

Sunnies
Aside from handbags my second largest personal collection would have to be sunglasses. I usually carry at least two pairs with me. Chanel and Oliver Peoples are among my favorites.

iPad
I am never without it.

Vintage Love!

Today I was truly left speechless! One of my very good friends whom I absolutely love and adore surprised me and gave me one of her vintage Louis Vuitton handbags. To say that I am over the moon is an understatement. I have not had the opportunity to find out the exact vintage of my bag but I know that it is called the Louis Vuitton Epi Sac D'Paule, and I am guessing that it is from the 1970's based upon stories I have heard.

I just love how when closed the bag takes on a more structured shape and when open it becomes a fabulous bucket bag!
Inside is a "little Louis" pouch! I use a very similar pouch for my wallet now and I am so excited to use this one as well.

The inside is lined in a beautiful olive green suede. These pictures do not do it justice but it is a gorgeous shade of green.

The embossed logo set against the incredible texture of the Epi leather.

My dear friend truly enriches my life. Her life has been and remains an incredible journey and I will forever be grateful to her for bestowing upon me this treasure. I am honored to be able to include it in my personal archives and I will forever think of her whenever I use it.

Pretty & Simple II

Little Pieces of Me

Everything in our home has a special significance to my husband and I or is something that we love.

Since our coffee table is also a large ottoman this mirrored tray is a beautiful way to display some books that I adore.

The Reading List
I've always liked the saying "Keep Calm and Carry On" & while in London I discovered "Sod Calm and Get Angry." Upon discovering these these gems I simply could not pass them by. I just love the combination of naughty & nice with cheeky British humor.

A little book with all things Louis Vuitton adds a bit of an academic approach & provenance to my Louis collection.

My obsession with 1960's & 1970's fashion & style collide with aviation in "Stewardess Come Fly with Me!"

A Vintage Glow

These mercury glass votives have a vintage feel & I just love how they look on the mirrored tray, especially at night when lit.

Fashion On the Go...

Today has been and still is a busy day. I began with meetings early this morning and I am taking a small break in between more meetings and running around. Nothing is worse than having a long day and being uncomfortable or even worse feeling downright frumpy. This morning I woke up and had to have myself showered and out the door in about 20 minutes.  This outfit is my cute and comfy solution to a long and arduous day.

This sweater dress was on of my Missoni Target finds, and I paired it with a simple white tank.

My Tory Burch jellies are a favorite for certain, I often call them my sunny shoes! Their bright color  makes any outfit pop and always puts a smile on my face. Paired with my dress they accent the blue and bring out the yellow nicely.

When my sister and I had finished one of our years in college we purchased our Speedy's together as treat for ourselves. From that day forward this bag has been one of the staples of my collection. It's a great size and goes with nearly everything. It's also great for traveling as it folds nearly flat. My sister and I often flatten them and place them in larger purses so that when we arrive at our destination we have a smaller purse option. Not to mention that all things Louis are nearly indestructible.

I have always liked larger watches, and wore them well before they were considered fashionable. This one is a favorite of mine as its classic appearance and clean face are easy to read. This watch is great as it effortlessly adds a little glam to any outfit.
