Babbo

This evening we had a lovely dinner at a delightful restaurant in Mayfair, Babbo. I was meeting a friend who I had not seen in quite a while and he recommended it as a great spot for dinner & to catch up.

It's ambiance is stunning in its simplicity and elegance. Candlelight greets you from the moment you enter and the soft creamy walls invite you into this place of great warmth. The main pathway is lit by three very different and beautiful vintage chandeliers, the walls are lined with black and white family photographs in various frames and a prominent arrangement of colorful fresh cut flowers adds depth in the center of the restaurant.

We were seated at the back of the restaurant, bathed in candlelight and illuminated by a frosted glass window that overlooks a lush garden. A steep dark wooden staircase leads to an upstairs, bottles of wine line the original brick walls.

The food was fresh, authentic Italian food presented with excellence & a great amount of care. The service was outstanding and this evening will remain one of many wonderful memories we have made during this trip to London.
